It’s a holiday weekend and usually we’d be out and about with the kids or even on vacation to some far flung destination. Instead, due to the devastation global Covid-19 pandemic, we are confined to our houses (save for a short amount of time outside for our daily exercise). However, thanks to the wonders of technology, we can still explore the amazing world we live in. This post will list over 50 virtual field trips you and your child can take, from the comfort of your sofa! Google Earth is an amazing tool to encourage your child to explore the world. You can be at home on your sofa or at our desk and transport to anywhere on the earth. Google Arts and Culture is another great resource to kick start your global search too – offering tours of monuments, art galleries and museums around the world. 360o video also allows us to view some great historic monuments/places of interest too. A good place to start is by looking at where you live. Find your house. Then their school. Maybe the park or family and friends’ houses. Next, maybe explore places you’ve been on holiday – relive those memories. Then you can explore places you’ve never been. Your child might have a few ideas of other places they want to visit. Perhaps they have been studying a particular country in school or have friends from different parts of the world.
