I haven't done end of year gifts for the past few years because when I was working in an Early Years Unit it didn't seem fair to just buy for my class because I 'taught' all of the children in some way and it was just too expensive to buy for 60 Reception and 30 nursery children!
But being back in Year One with only 27 pupils it's a little bit more manageable. Plus the kids deserve it. Year One is HARD!! It's so different from Early Years. Even when, like at our school, you have good transition and you provide continuous provision throughout the year, there's still that pressure to be ready for Year 2 and SATS. And some of the children struggle. and I mean really struggle.
My class have worked so hard to try and be ready for Year 2 and I have to say most of them are there. There has to be a reward for all that hard work. Something more than an 'expected' judgement. It's not much - quite inexpensive in the grand scheme of things but hopefully, they'll like it.
To finish off, I made my own tags, which are available for you do download for FREE in my TPT store. Yes the message is a little cheesy, but who doesn't like a bit of cheese every once in a while!
All in all they worked out at a cost of 54p per child (not including printing costs). Not bad is it?.
Additionally, I've designed some certificates (using Melonheadz graphics) to celebrate the successful completion of the year:
I am working on uploading them as individual documents at a cheaper price but this will take a bit of time, so if you can't find the year your looking for please email me and I'll get that one up for you asap.
